News from the Federal Government
Billion aid package for business, families and local authorities
With a 130 billion Euro package of measures to stabilize the economy, the Federal Government wants to secure jobs and get the economy up and running again after the Corona restrictions.
The package of measures includes:

Reduction of the value added tax (VAT): From July 1 to December 31, 2020, the VAT rate is to be reduced from 19 percent to 16 percent and for the reduced rate from 7 percent to 5 percent.

Children's bonus for families: parents receive a one-off payment of 300 Euro per child. The tax allowances are doubled for single parents.

Strengthening the municipalities: The federal government increases its share of the costs for the accommodation of people in need, compensates half of the local business tax losses and strengthens local public transportation and the health sector.

Electricity costs: From 2021, the EEG surcharge (it is paid by electricity consumers) is to be reduced through grants from the federal budget.

Future package: Around 50 billion Euro will flow into sustainable fields such as the hydrogen economy, electric vehicles, quantum technologies and artificial intelligence (computer-based intelligence).

Corona scale: The current situation
On the basis of the data values (7.06.2020), the light is green for the three indicators:

Reproduction number„R“: value 0,85) → green
-
New infections per week: value 5.1 per 100,000 inhabitants → green
-
Proportion of places in intensive care units required for COVID-19 patients: Value 3.4%→ green
The overall declining trend of new infections did not continue in the 22nd reporting week. The number of cases in the past reporting week is slightly higher than the number of the previous week.

Opening of numerous sports halls for club sports
From Monday, June 8, most of the sports halls in Spandau will be available for club use again. As before, only 12 people per part of the hall are allowed to exercise at the same time keeping a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. Therefore, only contactless forms of training are possible, training sessions for team and contact sports are prohibited. Toilet facilities and changing rooms may be used and, like the halls themselves, must be ventilated regularly and adequately, especially when changing between sports groups. In addition, the responsible trainers or trainers are asked to have a list of attendances.
