News from the Senate Chancellery
The “Corona scale” shows two green lights and one red light for Berlin
For the third time in a row, the reproduction number "R" is in the red area (1.27 after 1.23 previously at a limit of 1.22). The city has imposed a limit of 1.20 on itself - if this is exceeded, the first one of three lights turns yellow, followed by red on the third day in a row. The number of reproductions shows how many currently infected people infect others. If R is 1.40, this means, for example, that ten infected people pass the virus on to 14 people.
The other two lights remain " green" with a new infection rate of 5 per 100,000 inhabitants within a week and 4,7 % of the places in intensive care units required for COVID-19 patients.
